1 Corinthians 11:23-32
23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come. 27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. 29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. 30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. 31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

We embrace the mandate that the Church must be an agent for change in the world. In addition to any activity or service that we perform, we must be a people of fervent prayer and humble fasting. No prayer; no power. Little prayer; little power. Much Prayer; Much Power! This is also the day of our congregational fast. We wholeheartedly believe that fasting is a necessary part of the christian experience as we grow in faith and spiritual maturity. Furthermore there are circumstances in our lives that make prayer coupled with fasting absolutely necessary. Speak with Pastor Michael or Lady Michael for details on the fast. (Prayer: 2 Chronicles 20:1-13; Matthew 18:19-20; James 5:13-16 Fasting: Matthew 17:20-21; Mark 9:28-29 )

ALL WHO WANT TO PRAY OR DESIRE TO BE PRAYED FOR ARE INVITED TO ATTEND.
SEVEN STEPS TO ANSWERED PRAYER
1 – Decide what you want from God – James 1:6-8
2 – Find scripture to support your petition- Joshua 1:8, 1 John 5:14-15
3 – Ask in Jesus’ name – John 14:13-14, 16:23-24
4 – Believe that you receive – Mark 11:22-24
5 – Refuse to doubt – James 1:6-8, 4:7
6 – Meditate on the promise (reaffirm the Word) – Joshua 1:8, Psalms 1:2
7 – Thank God in advance – Philippians 4:6-8
2 Chronicles 7:14-16 (KJV)
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place. 16 For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
Proverbs 3:5-8 New Living Translation (NLT)
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6 Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. 7 Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. 8 Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones.
James 1:5-7 (KJV)
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
1 John 5:13-15 (KJV)
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

On this day in 2001, Pastor and Lady Michael underwent critical kidney transplant surgery that ended 5 years of dialysis for Lady Michael. By God’s amazing grace, Pastor Michael was a miraculous 5-point (near perfect!) match and was lovingly able to demonstrate the scripture “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;” (Ephesians 5:25)

Pastor, Lady Michael and Zoe
February 13th, 2001 (Valentines Day-eve) will forever hold endearing memories of an astounding and refining moment for both of them and stand as a testimony of love that will be shared from generation to generation. It is their prayer that their testimony will instruct and inspire everyone to prayerfully and patiently seek God’s direction in choosing a spouse and that couples will stand strong (by the power of Christ’s example of love) in their marital covenant.
Because it’s so true that children learn from what they see more than by what they hear, it is Pastor and Lady Michael’s prayer that their children and grandchildren will accept nothing less that true love and that they will be able to clearly see and gracefully show the incredible truth that “… the greatest of these is love…” (1 Corinthians 13:13) Love is the greatest power!
Father in Jesus name, I thank you for your miraculous ability in that you came so I can have abundant life. I’m one grateful wife and daughter of the KING. (Lady Tania Michael)
God, please let our children and grandchildren grow strong and steady in your incomparable love. (Pastor Horace C. Michael)
